Blank log window when Syslog Watcher runs automatically at startup minimized to tray

When the program is set to run Syslog Watcher GUI when windows starts, and run syslog Watcher in minimized state, the program does not load any logs. When the main window is opened all it shows is a blank log window and no program options.

syslog Watcher has to be manually ran from clicking on the desktop icon after the user logs in to get the logs to show up.

I've set the Syslog Watcher service to Automatic (delayed start) but this still occurs.

Thanks you for the report. It's a known drawback. Syslog Watcher manager requires Administrator's privileges to manage locally installed Syslog Watcher server. It's required to manage the server in case is is stopped. Windows OS can't auto start Syslog Watcher as Administrator, so Syslog Watcher starts in a default mode. In the default mode you can connect to a remote Syslog Watcher server.

Here is a workaround:

  1. Enable the Remote Connection feature in Syslog Watcher settings.
  2. Restart Syslog Watcher server to apply that change.
  3. Run Syslog Watcher manager and select Remote Server (main toolbar) to run another instance of Syslog Watcher manager in the default mode.
  4. Select Connect, specify 127.0.0.1 as Server and enter Password. Mark Remember password and Connect to server at startup
